Publish: 21.12.2018

The Canadian gaming giant Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has announced the first phase of the renovation and expansion of its Cascades Resort Langley facility has been successfully completed.

The project is estimated to have cost $18 million and comes only a couple of week after the company received the final approval from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) for the new Cascades Casino Delta property.

New Offer and New Jobs

Following phase 1 of the project, the property located in Langley, British Columbia, has now been completely transformed into a full-service casino resort, which will be highly competitive in the local market.

According to Gateway, the renovation and expansion of this property will also have a significant impact on the local community, since it will create 100 new jobs. The next phase of this project should be completed in 2019 and will bring a completely new look for the resort’s gaming floor, which will include 11,000 additional square feet, as well as the company’s signature restaurant brand Atlas Steak + Fish.

The first phase saw the complete renovation of the adjoining hotel and convention centre, worth more than $5 million, which now offers a new look to its guest rooms and public spaces, and even a new bingo hall.

Commenting on the project, Ray MacNeil, Vice President Operations, BC East, said the refresh of the hotel and convention centre was part of the spectacular $18.6 million renovation that would allow the company to attract both gamers and entertainment seekers by providing them with everything they needed under one roof for a great visit.

He added that from versatile convention spaces and luxurious hotel rooms to an array of dining options and live entertainment in Match Eatery & Public House, the new facility would really set Gateway apart in the Langley region.

Very Busy in British Columbia

Gateway has another significant project in this region, investing more than $15 million in the Grand Villa Burnaby, renovating the hotel and convention centre, opening new restaurants, and gaming areas. This extensive project was finally completed in October.

MacNeil stated the company’s continued investment in its properties showed its commitment to the community and its dedication to improving the customer experience through exceptional dining and entertainment amenities.

He pointed out Gateway was excited to bring a world-class restaurant to the residents of Langley and tourists alike, which would be the next exciting chapter to be unveiled at the Cascades.

Cascades Casino Resort Langley is located in downtown Langley, and its wide offer includes more than 70,000 square feet of gaming space, with 1,001 slot machines, 23 table games, a five-table poker room, and an intimate slot area, as well as a number of dining options – Match Eatery & Public House, The Buffet and Glacier Bar, and Lounge.
