Stars Group's PokerStars Power Up Finally Goes Live
Canadian gaming and online gambling company, the Stars Group, has announced the launch of its new online poker variant.
Created by the company’s in-house development team, PokerStars Power Up brings increased competitiveness and an engaging gaming experience.
Exciting new Mix
Essentially, PokerStars Power Up offers a combination of traditional poker and modern video games features, with an emphasis on exceptional visual and audio characteristics.
The Stars Group had the help of professional poker and eSports players during the development of the game. The final result is a mixture of an immersive competition, engaging backstories, and special powers – all within a traditional poker tournament.
There is also the strategic aspect of the game since the players will have to manage their energy levels to use the powers when necessary.
The game is based on a No Limit Hold’em Poker Sit & Go format. That means a tournament will consist of three players, with a buy-in options set from $1 to $15.
The players will start the game with two randomly selected powers, which can be used throughout the game and can prove to be a decisive factor during the match.
The Stars Group Chief Executive Officer Rafi Ashkenazi stated poker had maintained its popularity for nearly two hundred years because it had evolved with the time.
He added PokerStars Power Up continued the evolution by providing a modern take on a traditional game. Ashkenazi said the company had been encouraged by the reaction during alpha testing and expressed his optimism that PokerStars Power Up would introduce poker to a new generation of mobile gamers and excite the current ones.
Ashkenazi firmly believes the new game will be exciting not only to poker players but to all sorts of gamers too.
PokerStars Power up will be available across PokerStars network by the end of the week.
