Several Hefty Lotto Prizes Won Across Canada During August
Loto-Quebec, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) have awarded their players hefty prizes ranging from a “mere” $100,000 all the way to $1 million!
Two Historical Lotto Draws
But we should point out this week hasn’t been a successful one only for regular draw-day players. Lady Luck smiled upon instant lottery ticket fans as well, treating them to handsome jackpots. Following the past seven days, Canada now has two more new millionaires, which have experienced the power of the Lottery firsthand.
In addition to the said week, the two dates that are sure to be remembered – at least by two Lotto 6/49 winners – are July 17 and August 3.
Both these lucky winners are from Quebec. One of them is Catherine Lemaitre, who scooped a massive $1 million grand prize on July 17. The fortunate woman, who bought her winning ticket at a Jean Coutu’s in Rouyn-Noranda, wasn’t aware she had hit the life-changing jackpot at first and realized she won a couple of days after the draw.
Both winners said they had been shocked and couldn’t believe they had actually won, but pointed out they had been extremely excited and ecstatic.
The second player to have won the staggering prize, on August 3, is 24-year-old Vincent Chamberland-Cliche. Speaking about this win, the noted his life would become a great deal easier now that he had won $1 million in Lottery prize money. He bought the winning ticket at a Petro-Canada petrol station, located on Quebec-Boulevard. It should be noted that $1 million prize money tickets represent a second chance when it comes to winning big time, and are offered in addition to the main jackpot every week.
Many Prizes Are Waiting to Be Claimed
But in the meantime, we’re still waiting for the winner of the $60 million Lotto MAX jackpot, who is yet to claim this fantastic prize. The BCLC is doing its best to find the winner of the biggest lottery prize in the history of British Columbia, using every available mean of communication, but the prize is still unclaimed.
The winning ticket was bought in Richmond, while the provincial monopoly has gone above and beyond to alert the lucky winner, but at this point, it’s impossible to say whether he’ll be found soon. He has 52 weeks to grab his jackpot.
But believe it or not, there’s a number of hefty prizes still waiting to be taken home.
According to available information, 5 of these prizes are worth $1 million, with several smaller jackpots are also waiting to be claimed.
All these prizes have an expiration date, so the lucky winners will have to hurry up and grab their winnings, or they might end up losing everything.
