Seminole Tribe of Florida to Complete Two Expansions by October
The Seminole Tribe of Florida has already begun the construction of the new hotel tower for its Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa.
According to available information, the Tribe hope the new 14-story expansion will be up and running by the first week of October.
An Ambitious Casino Expansion
A recent report made by the Orlando Weekly revealed the extension, whose construction should cost around $700 million, will have 562 rooms and suites. Its lobby will even boast a 24-karat gold leaf-plated grand piano owned by the King himself.
It was also revealed the planned expansion of the Hillsborough County facility would include the construction of a 2,000-seat entertainment centre located above the venue’s lobby, accessed through a pair of curved escalators. The entertainment centre should be joined by a 17,000 sq ft ballroom.
In addition to all of this, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa customers will be able to enjoy a 60,000 sq ft deck overlooking three new pools that are due to hold some 200,000 gallons of water, as well as a full-service bar and grill, 700 daybeds and lounges, 20 cabanas and a pair of DJ booths.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa, the largest casino in Florida, should also get additional 55,000 sq ft of gaming space to bring the total size of its casino floor to 245,000 sq ft. According to some reports, the Seminole Tribe plans to fill the new space with around 1,000 slots and 41 casino gaming tables, which will increase its offering to around 5,000 slots and 179 gaming tables.
Believe it or not, but that’s not all, as the expansion of the Tampa venue will include the construction of a VIP gaming area, with private elevators and an exclusive check-in area.
Seminole Hard Rock and Casino Hollywood Awaiting Expansion
In addition to all of this, the Seminole Tribe of Florida plans to open a new 450-foot tall guitar-shaped hotel as a part of the new Seminole Hard Rock and Casino Hollywood. The $1.5 billion venue with 638 rooms should be up and running by mid-October. Once it’s open, the facility will have a total of 1,300 rooms.
Jim Allen, the Seminole Gaming enterprise Chief Executive Officer, explained the goal of this expansion was to attract more visitors.
Commenting on the expansion, Allen said the guitar tower would attract casino players and other visitors from throughout the country and around the world. He pointed out it would put South Florida on the map as a world-class gaming destination and would have a huge economic impact on Florida, as the Sunshine State’s gaming industry would never be the same.
The Seminole Hard Rock and Casino Hollywood plan to hold a jobs’ fair, in order to hire around 600 new workers who would fill a variety of security, service, housekeeping, food preparation and stewarding positions.
The Seminole Tribe of Florida used this approach last month when it hired around 500 people.
