Scientific Games Completes Lapis Software Associates Acquisition

Scientific Games successfully completed the acquisition of its long-term business partner Lapis Software Associates, an international supplier of lottery sales force and retail performance applications.

Lapis Software Associates are best known for their Gem Intelligence and Gem Retailer apps. The company also offers technology consulting services with a particular focus on high-performance, mission-critical distribution.

Having enjoyed a long and strategically successful relationship with Scientific Games, Lapis Software Associates expect to move forward even stronger under the full wing of their partners.

Scientific Games have taken up all existing Lapis staff members, whereas the company will also continue to provide support to Lapis customers. Lapis Software products allow Scientific Games to make a seamless integration into the existing instant product and system customers’ gaming systems.

Busy Period for Scientific Games

It’s been a busy period of last couple of weeks for Scientific Games who have struck an eight-year deal with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Agency (MLGCA) that will see Scientific Games provide central monitoring and control systems, as well as the new retailer terminals and a telecommunications network to support the Lottery and it vast network of 4,500 retailers.

The new deal also includes the draw and monitor games supply, together with software, system operation and maintenance. Scientific Games will also provide instant games support and marketing services.
