Police Probe Murder Attempt Outside Lac Leamy Casino

Gatineau police have opened an investigation following a shooting which occurred outside Lac-Leamy Casino late Tuesday night.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the face at the casino parking lot around 11 p.m. ET. Another person was inside the car at the time of the incident. The victim is a Gatineau resident who was immediately taken to Hull hospital and the latest reports claim victim is in critical condition. The other person was also admitted to hospital and was treated for shock.

Investigation Ongoing

Police officers blocked off a portion of the parking lot to allow a forensics team to perform examinations to the victim’s car, where the shooting occurred.

The authorities plan to conduct several interviews with a couple of witnesses, including a person who was inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Gatineau police claim all possibilities on a motive for the shooting are being examined.
