Parc Vancouver Now Officially Opened
Seven years of planning and two additional years of construction later, Parc Vancouver officially opened its doors on September 29.
British Columbia’s largest private development, worth $700 million, is situated on the north side of False Creek and on the west side of BC Place, while the main entrance is located in the new Smithe Street.
The massive new building covers an area of 775,000 square feet and will be instantly recognizable by its exterior bronze mirrors and unique shape.
Paragon Gaming co-founder, Scott Menke said the “stadium district” would be changed, while the customers would have an enhanced experience. Menke added the whole project was much more about tourism than anything else.
This claim is supported by the fact the building features two top-class hotels, both operated by Marriott International Inc – JW Marriott and the Douglass, an Autograph Collection Hotel.
JW Marriott Parq Vancouver is located between 6th and 25th floors, has 281 rooms and 44 suites, 3 luxury suites and even a two-floor villa. The visitors will also have the chance to enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness studio and a 10,000 square foot spa located on the 17th floor.
The Douglass has 178 rooms and 10 suites situated between 7th and 17 floors, along with a full-sized replica of a Douglas fir and a lobby bar.
Two hotels are connected by the Parq, a 30,000 square foot outdoor park located on the sixth floor, with a pond and as much as 200 pines planted on its premises.
Wide Range of Amenities
Parq Vancouver has a lot of features on offer for its customers. The only downtown’s casino is the relocated 72,000 square feet Edgewater Casinos. Edgewater is also the only casino in British Columbia designed to allow natural light, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows on both floors.
The main floor and the Saloon level are the home to 75 gaming tables, 600 penny to five dollars slot machines, a poker room, exclusive private salons, including in-Salon that offers a complete VIP service.
Parq Vancouver also features eight restaurants and lounges, a 62,000 square feet meeting and convention space, as well as Vancouver’s largest ballroom, the 15,600 square foot Parq Grand Ballroom.
