OLG’s Responsible Gambling Program is the Best in the World
According to OLG, its PlaySmart program has been named the 2018 Best Overall Responsible Gambling Program by the World Lottery Association (WLA).
A Remarkable Feat
This is not the first that OLG’s efforts in implementing responsible gambling have been recognized by the WLA, as the crown corporation received this recognition back in 2014. It is also the only lottery and gaming organization in the world to get this award on two occasions.
The winner of this year’s award was announced by the WLA at the World Lottery Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The prize is awarded every two years, and its goal is to recognize the efforts made when it comes to responsible gambling. All gaming operators from one of 80 member countries are eligible to get this award, provided they possess level 4 certification from the WLA, which is the highest level accreditation this organization has.
Commenting on this remarkable achievement, Stephen Rigby, OLG’s President and Chief Executive Officer said OLG’s Responsible Gambling program was driven by a simple vision – to provide a healthy and positive gambling experience for all players. Rigby added the company had a responsibility to its customers, employees, as well as its business and community partners to provide the most effective programming that promoted positive play and mitigated harmful gambling.
The crown corporation was especially proud of the fact that its approach to responsible gambling had been recognized by the WLA, as well as its commitment to implementing new initiatives aimed at making gambling safer.
