NetEnt Reveals New VR Slot At ICE
The Swedish provider of online gaming solutions NetEnt demonstrated major advances in virtual reality at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming in London.
The leading gaming company announced the first-ever fully functional virtual reality slot titled Gonzo’s Quest VR.
A Ground-Breaking Move
This move marks the beginning of a completely new era in the online gaming industry, and the most important thing about it is the fact it requires no complex integration no download of dedicated apps since it can be played via a web browser.
Playing the game is very easy, all you need to do is to log in to the casino, regardless of your device, press the VR tab, plug in your headset and you’re good to go. The Gonzo’s Quest VR game is developed in HTML5 and is scheduled to hit the market this summer.
Commenting on the upcoming release, Per Eriksson, NetEnt Chief Executive Officer said the company had been at the forefront of iGaming’s application of the technology since revealing its plans for VR in 2016.
What Else Is New?
He stated NetEnt was continuously inventing new ways of developing and distributing games and added he firmly believed VR had the potential to be an important channel in the future.
In addition to the ground-breaking launch of its VR slot, NetEnt has used 2018 ICE to reveal the upcoming additions to its video slot portfolio. Players can look forward to a set of licensed games that promise a lot of fun and excitement – Jumanji, Narcos, and Vikings.
Last, but definitely not the least addition to the company’s offering is the customized live casino concept, which officially went live on the first day of ICE. The new technology, developed in collaboration with another Scandinavian gaming giant, Mr Green, aims to enhance live gaming by utilizing the digital technology.
