Microgaming Opens Entries for Isle of Man Marathon
Not only are they one of world’s leading casino software developers and suppliers, the Isle of Man-based company Microgaming are a socially responsible entity as well.
Microgaming take full pride at something that’s neither their logo or mantra, as people at this company look after each other and after their local community too – with their PlayItForward initiative standing as the biggest proof.
With a particular focus on health, charity, sport and education, Microgaming has launched the community-driven program in 2014 aiming to change the game for place and people – helping gifted young people with education aims, sponsoring numerous up-and-coming sports stars and raising money for dozens of charities.
Socially responsible and aware as they are, Microgaming are taking huge part in this year’s edition of the Isle of Man marathon and Half-Marathon which will take place on 13 August.
Organised by the Isle of Man Veteran Athelete’s Club, the Marathon is taking place on a course in the north of the Isle of Man with runners going two laps of the course for the total of 26.2 miles.
New Addition to the Race
The 2017 edition of the race will include a four-leg relay race, in which four team members will run the full marathon distance among them, but covering just over 6.5 miles individually in a race especially designed by organisers to encourage new runners.
Microgaming as the main sponsors of the even have opened the entries with fees set at $30 for affiliated members, $36 for non-affiliated members and $120 per team to enter the relay race.
Last year’s edition saw the total number of 101 entries apply for the full marathon distance and 347 for the Half-Marathon with the record 448 crossing the finish line.
Organisers hope this year’s edition of the Microgaming Isle of Man Marathon will bring even bigger number of participants.
