Microgaming Launches Its Weirdest Slot Ever
The Isle of Man-based software development company Microgaming is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the industry.
Staying at the very top is not very easy, and to do so, you don’t necessarily need a vast portfolio of high-premium video slots. Apart from that, you must set new limits, offer brand-new possibilities and offer your customers something other don’t.
A Strange New Release
The latest Microgaming release, which was launched on May 31, is definitely a game you won’t find at portfolios of other online games developer. And no matter what, this is a unique game offering a never before seen experience and gameplay.
This fresh and entertaining new release is titled Poke the Guy, and it more looks like a little Flash game than a proper video slot. As we’ve said, the game is quite unusual, especially since it offers no reels or paylines, which may not seem unusual for an FPS, but quite unorthodox for a slot.
Then, how do you get winning combinations? How do you win money? The answer is very simple: just hit the guy. Yes, all you need to do is to chase the weird hairy fellow dressed in a yellow suit, going up and down and terrorizing the city.
To grab winnings, you’ll be required to hit the Guy with a wide arsenal of weapons, such as ice-creams, knives, rubber duckies – and there’s even a lethal piranha on offer. Hitting him will get you points, and these points equal cash.
Another confusing aspect of the game is wagering, which can be sound quite problematic since there are no coin denomination and bet levels to choose from. The game developers have come up with a clever solution: by choosing your weapon, you will choose your stake as well, with the size of the bet ranging from $0.05 to $30.
Does it Work?
The game is set on a map that features a variety of famous landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, the ancient pyramids of Egypt, Mount Rushmore and the Sphinx. The guy will simply jump around the screen, while you try to hit him using the Slingshot button (which could be called the Spin button, although nothing really spin when you press it).
You may experience a plethora of „what the hell“ moment while you play this game, but no wonder since the slot is totally random, while the fact the payouts are awarded randomly means you can grab a jackpot at any time, although it can never match those awarded by another successful Microgaming title, Mega Moolah.
Be sure to hit the guy in the face, you’ll be rewarded one of the multiplier values of either 2x, 4x, 8x, 12x, 18x, or the maximum prize of 500x the triggering bet.
Its originality aside, the game can quickly become boring, since the gameplay can easily turn monotonous, with no bonus features on offer.
Commenting on the new release, a spokesman for the renowned developer said the game introduced simple, silly fun on a whole new level.
The game can be played on both desktop and mobile devices, and is already available online with Microgaming and Quickfire operators.
If you prefer slot that looks like a slot, Microgaming has an extensive line-up on offer, including the recently launched titles such as Dream Date and Diamond Empire.
