Microgaming Enters Wrestling Arena with Lucha Legends
Mexican wrestling or lucha libre, meaning freestyle wrestling, was initially introduced to Mexico in the first years of the 20th century and has since developed into a unique and instantly recognisable genre. Mexican wrestlers are known for wearing colourful masks or even capes, while the sport itself is characterised by rapid holds and manoeuvres, with some of the moves originating from the United States.
Now that you know what to expect from Lucha Legends, you can be sure that Microgaming’s new game will deliver on all of those expectations.
Get Ready for Action
Lucha Legends is a five-reel three-row video slot, with a total of 25 fixed paylines on offer, promising plenty of excitement and opportunities to score rewarding wins, while the game will be available on both desktop and mobile, including Android, iOS, and Windows.
The reels are populated by a plethora of vibrantly coloured symbols, including a cast of Mexican wrestlers which are the game’s main icons.
The wrestlers are named Burro, El Diablo, Martio and Pepe & Sal, and each of them brings a unique signature move that has the potential to activate the Super Wild feature.
The list of features Lucha Legends has on offer starts with the Super Wild, which can be triggered during the main game. Once it’s activated, standard Wild symbols will become enhanced, turning into Super Wilds. But that’s not all since players get a 2x or 3x multiplier, or even two extra Wild icons. Wilds can become super during the Free Spins round as well, which in turn can lead to some pretty neat payouts.
Players are sure to benefit from the Power Up mode, which can be triggered from the main game, filling up the on-screen meter along the way. This feature can prove to be very lucrative, but more importantly, it can also be transferred over to the free spins game once this round gets activated.
When that happens, the total wager will be doubled, which can lead to much bigger payouts. In addition to this, players will also receive a 3x or 5x multiplier, or they could end up getting four Wild symbols as well.
Commenting on the launch of the new game, David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming said Lucha Legends was a fun and vibrant slot that tapped into the global popularity of professional Mexican wrestling, capturing the drama and excitement with several big-hitting features.
He pointed out that, in addition to 10 free spins which could be retriggered, the Super Wild feature and Power Up mode aimed to enhance gameplay and increase the player’s win potential. Reynolds added Lucha Legends was a beautifully animated game designed to deliver round after round of action and entertainment.
The release of Lucha Legends follows a very dynamic period for the company, marked by the new Guinness World Record set by Mega Moolah, and the launch of the Cash of Kingdoms.
