Mega Moolah Awards Two Multi-Million Jackpots Two Days in a Row
The leading developer of online casino games, Microgaming, has announced that one of its most popular games, and probably one of the most popular video slots ever made, has once again made the headlines.
You’ve probably guessed we’re talking about Mega Moolah, the world-renowned progressive video slot that earned its popularity thanks to lucrative prizes it awards.
An Amazing Achievement
After the game paid out more than $50 million in 2018, it continued on a high in this year as well, awarding not one, but two prizes in less than 48 hours!
The first prize won on Tuesday, March 5th, worth a staggering €11.5 million, while the very next day, another lucky punter took home a jackpot worth €2.2 million. Interestingly enough, both prizes were hit at the same online casino, at Casino Rewards brand.
We should point out the latter was hit after only 33 spins by a player who opened his account at Casino Rewards on that very same day.
The €11.5 million jackpot is the fourth largest payout ever awarded by a Microgaming progressive jackpot. The biggest one is worth €18.9 million, won on September 28th last year, followed by the one which currently holds the place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Won back in 2015. by a soldier from the United Kingdom, this one is worth £13.2 million and is still recognized as the largest jackpot ever won on an online slot game.
It will be replaced by the one from 2018, once it gets ratified by the people from the Guinness.
The third largest jackpot in Microgaming’s history was awarded earlier this year and is worth €13.3 million.
Creating Millionaires Since 2008
Mega Moolah jackpot hit the market in 2006, bringing a distinctive African theme to the reels, along with a number of ways to get rewarding prizes. The game has 5 reels, 3 rows and a total of 25 fixed paylines, while the jackpot game features a Wheel of Fortune style.
By spinning this wheel, players will have the opportunity to win one of four jackpots on offer – Mini, Minor, Major and the Mega Jackpot, with the latter having a guaranteed payout of £1 million. Its first jackpot was awarded in 2008, and the rest was history.
The design of icons matches the game’s theme, so you’ll encounter different wild animals, including Lions, which serve as the Wilds, and have the power to double your winnings. The Scatter symbol is represented by a Headhunter trophy, and landing these icons will activate the Free Spins round, where up to 15 spins and a 3x multiplier await!
Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network, which is also the biggest one in the industry, has so far paid out more than €1 billion, creating 71 millionaires. No wonder Mega Moolah is named ‘the Million Maker’.
Commenting on these two jackpots, David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming said his company continued to lead the way with more life-changing wins on the network. He also pointed out the fact these two millionaires had been made on consecutive days really demonstrated the strength and popularity of the developer’s world-famous Mega Moolah slot.
