Lucky Edmonton Couple Wins $8M in Third Lottery Win
Some people just seem to be born under the lucky star.
You can say it out loud in front of Barbara and Douglas Fink, a couple from Edmonton, who are no strangers to lottery wins.
Barbara and Douglas are celebrating their third lottery win as their fortune struck again on Friday when this lovely Edmonton couple pocketed whopping $8, 163,061 prize on the Lotto 6/49 draw.
Douglas was working out of town on the night of the draw when he received a call from his wife, who checked the winning numbers online immediately after they were drawn. Barbara could not reach Douglas at first, but when she eventually got him on the phone, she told him, “I did it again.”
Quite an interesting fact regarding the Finks is that they appear to be well accustomed to winning the lottery.
Douglas shared a $128,000 Lotto 6/49 win with four friends back in 1989, whereas another $100,000 was claimed by the lucky couple back in 2010.
Barbara revealed that she immediately knew they won the prize, but that she didn’t know if there were any more winners.
The Fink couple have all of their plans how to spend the money already laid out.
Barbara and Douglas will use the money to look after their daughters and their families, whereas they also want to continue to travel. Additionally, they would like to buy a new home.
“Barbara wants a new house, so she’ll get one”, Douglas commented.
The Lotto 6/49 winning ticket was a free play won on a previous draw and the other half of the $16.3 million jackpot was sold in Ontario.
