IGT And Boyd Gaming Make Virtual Reality - A Reality
IGT has proudly announced an important move, which marks the company’s first-ever virtual reality installation at a casino.
The launch of IGT’s “Virtual Zone” platform at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, done in collaboration with Boyd Gaming is the first VR entertainment offering by the Nevada-based gaming and hospitality company.
A Lot Of VR Fun
“Virtual Zone” is purposely designed for casino floors and offers customers the chance to compete against each other in various VR tournaments, but also enables them to enjoy other highly competitive VR games on offer.
The first two games offered are Siege VR and Archery VR, where players will put their archery skills to the test as they try to win as much Slot Dollars as possible.
Commenting on this milestone achievement, Matt Ryan, Boyd Gaming Senior Vice President, and Chief Marketing Officer said his company was excited to offer its customers the opportunity to compete for Slot Dollars in IGT’s Virtual Zone.
He stated that adding a Virtual Reality experience to The Orleans’ casino floor was a positive step toward enhancing the overall entertainment offerings with new, interactive content that could reward B Connected members and engage an expanded demographic of players.
A Unique Experience
On the other hand, IGT’s Gaming Chief Commercial Officer, Nick Khin said the company was pleased to bring its Virtual Zone VR solution to market with its valued customers at Boyd Gaming,
Khin explained the Virtual Zone melded exceptional content with industry-leading hardware and proven tournament technology, to create a unique experience that Boyd Gaming could leverage to help differentiate its casino floors and drive incremental play.
Players can choose to practice their archery skills individually or compete in tournaments, though only two-person teams are allowed to participate in them, while members of Boyd Gaming’s loyalty program can join the fun for a flat fee.
