A woman from Dundas, Ontario, won $1 million lottery prize as she matched all seven winning numbers in her Encore selection.

Charmaine Siddal reached out to Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation on Tuesday to claim her windfall she plans to spend on paying off her mortgage and traveling.

Self-employed Dundas resident has been struggling with financial uncertainty for a while and is so excited to win the life-changing lottery prize.

“It is such an amazing feeling”, Siddal said.

Life-Changing Win

Charmaine Siddal bought her lottery ticket at an Avondale convenience store on King Street in Dundas.

To make things even more exciting, Siddal completely forgot she had a lottery ticket and only remembered to check the numbers a week later. A clerk delighted her when words ‘Big Winner’ popped up on the screen upon checking the ticket.

“I took a step back and didn’t know what to do. I looked at the retailer and said, ‘I won $1,000!’ We both giggled as I put the ticket back in my pocket and left the store.”, she said.

Later on, Charmaine’s daughter double-checked the ticked to establish Siddel’s prize was significantly higher.

“She said, ‘Mom, you didn’t win $1,000. You won a million!”, Siddel added.

About Encore Lotto

Encore is a bonus game that offers lotto players a chance to win $1 million for only $1.

It boasts 22 different ways to win prizes which start at $2 and is only available in Ontario. All players need to do is to ask their lottery retailer to include Encore on Quick Picks with their host game. Or simply mark how many Encore you want to play (1-10) on your Selection Slip.

If you choose Advance Play on your Selection Slip, you will be playing Encore and your host game for each of the host games’ draws.

Encore is won by matching the drawn numbers from right to left or left to right in the exact order.
