Clock Ticking on Toronto-Bought $1M Lotto Ticket
Imagine the following scenario.
A $1 million lottery combination was drawn but you have no idea that it’s you who won the life-changing amount. Or worse yet, you have unfortunately lost the winning ticket.
Either way, we guess one of the two scenarios occurred in Toronto as a Lotto 6/49 winner who bought the ticket last March is yet to claim the win. As-yet-unclaimed ticket was chosen on 2 March 2016 and the clock is slowly running out on the whopping prize.
The winning numbers of the winning draw were 5-5-3-0-8-1-3-9-06 which is the exact match for the guaranteed prize draw selection, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
A lucky winner who drew the total of eight numbers plus a bonus number should hurry up to claim the prize as the one-year deadline from the original draw is set to expire in less than two weeks.
Call for Claim
The OLG made a statement this week, calling for anyone possessing the winning ticket to fill the back portion, sign it and contact the OLG prize Centre in Toronto before 6pm on 2 March 2017.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation reminds the players that prize winnings cannot be assigned, transferred, lent, sold or otherwise directed to third parties by prize winners.
In addition to the original, signed winning ticket, winners should bring their customer receipt and identification documents. One piece of valid government-issued photo ID with birth date and a second piece of acceptable identification.
In addition, winners must bring a completed lottery prize claim declaration form, which can be printed from the OLG website or at Slot and Casino locations.
