The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission has approved Century Casino Incorporated’s plans to erect the new Century Mile Racing Entertainment Centre in Edmonton.

Century Casino Incorporated has thus received some more good news this month after the Colorado Springs-based operator announced record financial results for 2016 which have reached all-time high of $139.23 million, whereas the EBITDA also amounted the record $25.76 million.
Century Casinos Incorporated currently boasts four operational venues in Alberta and the newly-announced Century Mile Racing Entertainment Centre just south of Edmonton will push the number to five.
Century Casinos Incorporated has most recently purchased Century Casino St Albert, whereas the same operator was last September selected to build a new horseracing facility in the Edmonton area.
Races, Slots and Entertainment
The new Entertainment Centre will come with a brand-new mile-long horse racetrack, barns for horses and visitors’ parking. What is more, the newly-announced facility will feature a playing area with over 500 slot machines and a spectator area with indoor and outdoor racetrack viewing places.
Additionally, the venue will feature an off-track area for betting, a grandstand and food and beverage stations.
Having already tested the waters with a similar center opened two years ago in Calgari, the Century Casino Incorporated heads are confident the Edmonton-based facility will be even more successful.
“We thank the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission as well as Horse Racing Alberta for their trust and approval and will work diligently with them and other authorities to begin and complete construction as soon as reasonably possible.”, Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Co-Chief Executives wrote in a statement.
The exact location of the new centre is the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, next to Edmonton International Airport, within the touching distance of the city of Leduc.
