Canadian Football League Joins TSN in Fantasy Sports Launch

The Sports Network (TSN), a Canadian media company, has partnered with American Football competition the Canadian Football League (CFL) for a launch of a new fantasy sports service.

CFL senior vice-president of marketing and content, Christina Litz, did not share the league delight over the new deal.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to offer sports fans, whether they have always loved the CFL, are new to the CFL, or just love to play fantasy sports, a product that is challenging and exciting while easy and fun to use,”, Litz said.

CFL Joins the Team

The partnership will add CFL’s nine teams to the offering and Canadian players will be delighted to find out they will now be able to select six active offensive players and a defense line from one of CFL nine sides.

The players will also need to take care not to exceed the salary cap.

The TSN CFL Fantasy game is free to play and can be enjoyed throughout the forthcoming season which is due to begin on 22 June.

A number of different weekly prizes are up for grabs, whereas the overall champions of the entire season will be rewarded with a trip for two to the 105th Grey Cup.

New Chapter of the Longstanding Partnership

The latest deal between TSN and CFL is another confirmation of a longstanding partnership between the two organizations, claims Ken Volden, vice-president and executive producer, news and information at TSN.

“We are excited to expand on that as we launch TSN CFL Fantasy. We look forward to seeing fans immerse themselves in the on-field action as they compete for prizes throughout the upcoming CFL season.”, Volden said.

One of the major updates deals with a social media integration which allows TSN CFL Fantasy players to easily share their rosters as a visual graphic.
