British Columbia Man Receives Best Birthday Present Ever with $1M 6/49 Win
We don’t know if David McLeod’s friends called to congratulate on his birthday, but we are fairly confident that they will come calling now as they can ready his name and see his face in media outlets across Canada.
It must have been the happiest birthday of them all for the British Columbia man who decided to buy the $1 million winning ticket on 17 May, which happens to be his birthday.
The Kelowna man could not believe his luck when he first realised he scooped the 6/49 lotto prize and revealed he had to text his wife a picture of the validation slip in order to confirm what he was seeing was real.
The reality of mind-blowing win is only just beginning to sink in with David, who could not have hopes for a better present.
McLeod plans to pay off his mortgage with part of money, whereas a lump of the prize will be used to help his kids with their university expenses. Finally, he planned to donate some of the money to the Rotary.
