BCLC Gives Preliminary Approval To Delta Casino Site
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has provided a preliminary approval of Delta Town and Country Inn casino and entertainment facility site.
In its attempts to relocate the Newton Community Gaming Centre in Surrey, the Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd. Has approached BCLC with a desire to move its facilities to the Delta Town and Country Inn.
Gateway Casino & Entertainment Ltd. Has operated the Newton facility since 2014. It was exactly that year that the British Columbia Lottery Corporation replied at the request of Surry city council to officially strip the bingo hall of it is 150 slot machines.
Looking to move its operations elsewhere, Gateway Casino & Entertainment Ltd. has handpicked the Delta Town and Country Inn at the recommendation of the Corporation of Delta which found the facility site to be the only suitable one.
The main advantages of the Delta Town and Country Inn are a distance from residential neighbourhoods and easy access to major transportation corridors, which are seen as important factors in a gambling and entertainment facility.
Gateway Casino & Entertainment Ltd. Will now move on to the next step of the process which implies providing a detailed proposal of the size, scope and amenities of the Delta Town and Country Inn facility.
The proposal will then be submitted to BCLC for consideration and – if approved – forwarded to the Corporation of Delta for a final decision.
