Another Successful Year For NetEnt
The Swedish online games developer Microgaming has posted its full-year business report, revealing the company’s achievements during the twelve months of 2017.
According to available figures, the Swedish gaming giant can be satisfied with the results.
Numbers Going Up
During last year, the company was more focused on expanding its presence in the regulated markets, and this strategy definitely paid off. NetEnt recorded a little over $197 million in profits, which represents a year-on-year increase of 11.7%, while the operating margin reached 36.1%.
NetEnt entered the US market through New Jersey, while further strengthening its positions in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, and Denmark. In addition to this, NetEnt made its debut in the markets in the Czech Republic and Serbia.
Still, the resulted could have been better. There were certain setbacks, such as an initial withdraw from the Czech Republic due to the country’s new gaming regulations, with the same happening with Poland and Austria. Following the 2107 results, NetEnt parted ways with its long-time President and Chief Executive Officer Per Eriksson, who had spent five years at the Swedish firm.
New Games And New Markets
14 new games were launched during 2017. Divine Fortune hit the market in the years first quarter, while Jungle Spirit: Call of the Wild soon followed. Hansel and Gretel became the latest installment of the Fairytale Legends series, while the year ended with two exciting slots – Planet of the Apes and Finn and the Swirly Spin.
The ambitious plans for this year include the releases of a couple of new slots which will draw its inspiration from popular TV shows Narcos and Vikings.
