Amaya-Owned PokerStars Organizes ‘Biggest Ever’ Poker Day
With more than $28 million offered in guaranteed prizes, PokerStars hosted what is described as the ‘biggest day in online poker history’, according to the organizers.
The biggest online poker cardroom in the world owned by the Canadian gaming company Amaya Inc. can only settle for the biggest and such was a Sunday’s poker day which consisted of the total of 1,275 tournaments.
Players around the globe were allowed in the tournament which generated an incredible prize pool in a record-breaking moment, which will be remembered as an important milestone in online poker history.
Irector of poker innovations and operations at PokerStars, Severin Rasset, did not hide his excitement over a ‘special day’.
“This is a really special day for us and our players, which will go down in online poker history as a record-breaking moment. The huge prize pools on offer further cement our position as the biggest and the best with players competing for $28 million we will be delivering millions of winning moments too”, he said.
The latest PokerStars initiative coincided with the PokerStars Spring Championship of Poker Main Event.

The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world which includes 57 events held between 30 April and 22 May.
The Scoop 2017 offers a wide range of different formats at separate buy-in levels to make sure that players of different stature and bankrolls get the pop at the main prize in order to write their name in online poker history books.
Each event at the Scoop 2017 comes in Low, Medium and High versions, with (at least) $1 million for the first place at the top section.
The total guaranteed prize pool at this year’s edition of the tournament exceeds whopping $55 million.
