888 Holdings First Operator Added on Google Play

It’s been well over a month since Google announced the change of stance on gambling apps on its Android App store and the groundbreaking change has been officially introduced with 888 Holdings becoming one of the first operators to be included in the offering.

Ground-Breaking Move

The addition of 888 casino, 777, 888poker, 888sport, Wink Slots and Wink Bingo brands to the platform’s offering has seen Google loosen the grip on a long-standing ban on gambling and betting apps.

The ban stood since 2013 has now officially been lifted, allowing gambling operators to offer their real-money games to Google Play users.

Google had previously restricted gambling app downloads, whereas users were forced to individually install applications without the aid of Google Play functionalities. The biggest issue Google had problems with was the presumption that Android would not be able to fulfil appropriate age verification on users who access the gambling apps.

888 Leading the Line

The ground-breaking move with lifting the ban and addition of real-money gambling operators is just the last in a line of industry-firsts for 888Holdings.

The year of 2017 has so far seen 888Holdings hit the ground running with the launch of their Elite Lounge Live Casino which offers a special nightclub feel to its users and a full VIP treatment in a brick and mortar atmosphere.

Elite Lounge Live Casino proved to be an instant success with the company reporting earlier in July that this brand-new facility has exceeded expectations.

The fact 888Holdings became one of the first gambling operators to be added on Google Play serves as another confirmation of the company’s stature and reputation within the gaming community.

888Holdings’ up-to-date technology, technically advanced platform and impressive customer service made 888’s cross-business offering one of the most desired on the market.
